About

About the desk

A Manchester practice built around reading options flow against the trades people actually hold.

Devfabric Base started as an informal morning read shared among a handful of Northern traders who wanted a second opinion on unusual options prints before the London cash open. That habit became a booked practice: timed briefings, written summaries, and a clear line between observation and advice.

How we work

We treat options flow as one input among several — never a headline on its own. A large call print means little until you know whether open interest absorbed it, whether the stock was already moving on a catalyst, and whether the strike sits near a known hedge level. Our sessions exist to slow that judgement down for people who otherwise make it alone under time pressure.

The desk sits at Level 10, 29 King Street, Manchester. Many clients prefer video; others travel in when an expiry week concentrates risk in a few names. Either way, the format stays the same: you nominate the book, we prepare overnight, and we argue the tape together.

Who sits across from you

Briefings are led by practitioners with multi-year experience reading listed options around UK and US equities — not as a research product for distribution, but as preparation for people who already trade. We stay deliberately small. If a week is fully booked, we say so rather than dilute the preparation.

Values that shape the work

  • Specificity over theatre — fewer tickers prepared well beat a market-wide sweep.
  • Honest limits — if the tape is ambiguous, we say so in the write-up.
  • Client ownership — you leave with context; decisions and risk remain yours.
  • Quiet rooms — no livestreams, no social signal sheets, no urgency gimmicks.

If that approach fits how you already think about the market, request a briefing and tell us what is on your watchlist.
